ABOUT PAULA

​

I am a Brazilian-British TEFL Certified teacher with 6 years experience teaching English as a Second Language online and in-company in São Paulo, specialised in Business English, Leadership and Social and Cultural Anthropology.

I have lived and studied in England and in the US for 13 years, graduated in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Maryland, with extra courses in leadership (Landmark Education) and TEFL (tefl.org, please see PDFs below). Besides that, I have travelled to many countries and experienced many cultures first hand.

 

I offer English lessons that help students perfect their existing fluency from an intermediate level and above. Whether you are looking for a job or study opportunity, to take a test, or to travel, and I offer classes to meet all of these goals.

I also offer time between scheduled lessons with feedback to keep students motivated and working on their own, as I highly value the efforts and outcomes of self-guided studying.

I start with a Placement Test to identify problem areas and needs so as to develop individualised lessons; easy and friendly, prioritising simplicity, clarity and accuracy, while maintaining the student’s individual expression and authenticity. I work with the needed skills and objectives, and often discuss culture, making lessons as applicable to real life as possible.
